Solitary bees make up around 92% of the bee population, this group of bees includes Mason Bees, Yellow Faced Bees and Leafcutter Bees to name a few and are very important pollinators. These bees live alone and do not produce honey like species of bees that live in colonies. Solitary bees lay their eggs in small tunnels and leave a ready supply of pollen for the young to eat upon hatching, the adult seals the hole of her nest and carries out no further parenting duties.
