BBC Springwatch Returns for 2017!

Springwatch is back for three weeks from Monday 29^th May – Thursday 15^th June at 8pm on BBC Two! Tune in for rare farmland birds, bats, red kites, rodents, water voles, and of course garden birds!

Springwatch Unsprung will be aired from Monday 5^th June – Friday 16^th June at 6.30pm on BBC Two!

This year will be the 13^th year of Springwatch! Both shows will be based at the National Trust’s Sherborne Estate in the Cotswolds.

The idyllic Sherborne Estate is the perfect location to bring another great series of Springwatch. The estate boasts an 18^th century water meadow which is rich in fish life, otters, dragonflies and damselflies. As well as a disused second world war airbase where arable crops grow. Expect to see hares and rare farmland birds, Skylarks, Yellowhammers and Corn Buntings, on this year’s show!

The estate is maintained by a dedicated team of rangers, farmers and partners to preserve and improve the historic oak parkland, riverbank environments, limestone grasslands, wildflower meadows, as well as the miles of Cotswold stone walls which house Weasels, Stoats, Rodents, Lizards, and colonies of Lesser Horseshoe Bats.

The Springwatch team Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan, Martin Hughes-Games and Gillian Burke will be making the Cotswolds their home for the next 12 months to bring the very best of British nature to our TV screens.

Springwatch Unsprung will also be filmed at the new location with returning host Chris Packham accompanied by celebrity guests who share a love for wildlife, including film stars, comedians, authors and musicians.

The Springwatch team will also offer viewers wildlife updates and streaming wildlife action as it happens on the Springwatch live website.
