When should I put water out for the birds?
It is important to provide clean fresh water daily for the birds. Water scarcity can happen in summer but also in winter when water sources can freeze over.
Is the bird bath easy to clean?
Yes, thanks to the bird bath being made from ceramic, it is very easy to clean. We recommend fresh water daily and frequent cleaning allowing the dish to air dry fully.
Give your garden visitors somewhere safe to drink with the Vierno Tajine, a hanging ceramic water dish for wild birds created in partnership with the National Trust. Its open design gives birds a clear view all around, so they can relax and drink rather than constantly keeping watch for predators or bigger, bolder birds.
Birds need water every day of the year, and often more than once, especially when their diet is made up of dry foods like seed. Keeping a reliable source of fresh, clean water topped up is one of the simplest ways to help the wildlife in your garden, patio or balcony thrive.
This hanging bird bath comes with a sturdy metal loop, making it easy to hang from a branch, hook or bracket. For best results, position it at least one metre off the ground and near trees or shrubs, where smaller birds will feel sheltered enough to visit.
Presented in attractive gift packaging, the Vierno Tajine makes a thoughtful wildlife gift for nature lovers, keen gardeners and birdwatchers alike.
Supporting the National Trust Each item in the National Trust Garden Wildlife Range helps fund the Trust’s conservation work for wildlife, from planting trees and creating new habitats to installing bird feeding stations and providing dormouse nest boxes in carefully chosen locations. So as well as helping the birds in your own garden, you’ll be contributing to the care of historic places, countryside, coastline and the wildlife that calls them home.
Please note: Each piece in the Vierno range is individually produced, so colour may vary slightly from dish to dish. This product is not frost resistant, so we recommend bringing it indoors during freezing weather.
